I think that Jack might try and hurt Millie since that’s all he wanted Grace for. He would also hint that he loved to scare the vulnerable, and just make their life a living nightmare. This really scares Grace because she would never let Jack near her at all.

In ‘Behind Closed Doors’, Grace is a very interesting character to follow and analyze. She is constantly under the eye of Jack, her pyschopathic husband. Her identity has been stripped away ever since she met him. Now she must act like the perfect wife in front of the public. Jack is the main cause of her new identity. She is limited in everything she does. Grace is scared but she must go along with the plan.

I decided to read this book because it seemed really interesting to read, judging by the info on the back of the book. I heard that B. A Paris was a very good author. The book is pretty good so far, I really like the structuring of it. The characters are super interesting and fun. Grace seems the most down-to-earth so far. This book has definitely lived up to my expectations so far. Really excited to read more!

If I could ask the main character, Grace, 3 questions, one would be, did you think it was suspicious that Millie just fell from the stairs, even though Jack was right behind her? I mean, he didn’t really like the idea of Millie being one of the bridesmaids. Also, why didn’t you just run away from Jack when you had a chance? My last question would be, why did you put Millie in risk of being tortured?

I think a significant moment in this book is when Jack reveals that he a murder looking for someone to torture. Grace is terrified after he says this, and then realizes that Millie is also in danger of this man. This makes the book way more interesting knowing that Grace will have to find a way to escape.

The tone of 'Behind Closed Doors' is sinister. The whole book is just sinister. Jack is so horrible to Grace, everything he does gives me shivers. Grace needs to pretend to be his wife, so that Jack can have her sister, Millie, to torture. He has made a room especially for her, full of graphic pictures, and blooded painted everywhere. To make things worse, Millie has down syndrome, so Jack can torture her easily.

One prediction of mine is that Jack will never let Grace go ever again, nor see Millie if she doesn't act according to his will. Again, Jack is giving so many signs, like, always putting an arm around Grace tightly and blocking her excuses to leave with snide, clever remarks.. but that's only in public. At home is a completely different, as we can tell Jack is keeping her hostage.

I would give advice to Millie, out of all of them. I'd tell her to never trust anyone unless you know that person and how they truly are. None of her 'accidents' in this story would have every happened if she didn't trust ever single person that entered into her life. If Grace wasn't so delusional and payed more attention to Jack's behavior.

In 'Behind Closed Doors', the structure of the text is through a series of past and present. The chapters go from present to past and back again, and it's all told by Grace. She describes what happened and what has happened. In the past, she talks about how she met Jack, and taking care of Millie, and in the present, she shows us about her life with Jack and the horrors of living with a murderous pyscho.
