Where exactly in NY is Angelene’s grandmother? Does she even know?

And how does she know Josie knows the grandma is still alive? Is she keeping track?

I don’t recall if Rake had talked about his past much. I guess this is the beginning of it - in answer to Angelene‘s query, he said he wanted to get away from civilization because sometimes it isn’t civilized.

He spoke of continuing the morning ritual of sunlight/stream benediction to heal his battered body ... he straddled two worlds (mixed heritage - half Native-American?).

Rake mentioned something about “his mother’s people”. He has darker complexion (maybe just “sun-browned”) ... is he half Native American?
