Unpopular opinion: I actually really liked the Hobbit movies, and from reading this, they're pretty darn accurate and added a lot of depth to Bilbo and Thorin that just isn't in the book. And about the "silliness" of the movies...do they know this is a children's book? This is consistently silly; the director did the best he could to connect it to the darker themes of the preexisting Lord of the Rings movies.

"Riddles in the Dark" was freaking awesome. Also, this is a veritable musical with all the singing going on
