Slowly making my way back through this. Such an interesting concept to dig into again, and it's cool to be able to see these characters from the beginning with the perspective of having finished the novel one time already.

I seriously need to run a tabletop role-playing game campaign based off the concept of reincarnation--specifically, the jati (family of souls) that is destined to be bound together. And then of course, to subvert it and have them figure out a way to break free from it and die truly to wait for resurrection or something along those lines.

This book, though it makes me want to do an RPG based off of it, it also continues to convince me of the stark difference between the Christian view of the body/soul relationship and almost everyone else.

This book is one of my favorites. Kim Stanley Robinson takes the concept of reincarnation and just runs with it in such a powerful way. This book blends philosophy, literary fiction, and speculative fiction beautifully.

This book is sooo good and sooo interesting. I'm learning fascinating things about eastern philosophy and religion, and getting into the mindset of very interesting characters from eastern cultures. And the way it's written...so unique, I love it.
