The main character, Henrietta Lacks, is an African American women living in a highly segregated America. To most people, Henrietta is the woman whose cells revolutionized the field of science. What most people don’t realize is that she is an extremely brave person, trying to give herself and her children the best life possible even when most people are against her. At the same time, she is a very fun, joyful person.
