Getting towards the end I start recalling a lot of the details but I don't mind since I enjoy the characters. Will update with more as I finish!

Everything is so ominous and angsty it makes me anxious! Poor Seregil and all these secrets. I like Nysander, and I understand that he CAN'T say anything but.. it's hard when Seregil is affected by it.

God, and I can't stop being angry that Seregil's father is a homophobic piece of crap 😂👏

I must say that the creepy, black figure coming from the curse is extremely chilling and every time I read that scene I get freaked out! Really good writing from Flewelling, very eerie and scary! I'm surprised at how many times it gave me goosebumps!

IM REREADING THIS because I never finished Stalking Darkness in months ( thanks AFTG ) so I need to reread the first book. I need to finish the series! I can't wait to see Alec and Seregil again <3

The relationship between Alec and Seregil is waining because Seregil is starting to notice certain sparks about him, involving Alec and he's worried about the danger that is creeping eerily towards him, with a prophecy that promises death and love. Death obviously being the bigger part of an understatement. The book is almost over but I can tell the fun has just begun! I love this book already.

So... I am preparing myself for an ass-blasting of pure ansgt coming our way. The evil dude witht he evil talesms is tracking them just when Micum comes back to tell them of knews, and I just know they mught be tracked back to Micum's home. I have no doubt Seregil will try to do things stubbornly on his own, and I did see spoilers ( oopsie ) and also the festival is coming up! So much!! So much left to read!!

Chapter 16- We learn a lot more about the magic system and more about the war, and how the talisman has a hex or curse placed onto it. It's really interesting to find about the Watchers, and the relationship between the new characters we meet and Seregil. Also, it is astonishingly funny and pure at how Alc sways at the sight of pretty ladies, as do I. Things are not slow or too fast, and the story is moving right on

Chapter 11. By Illior did I now that it was some crazy coin moojoo death magic! It makes me think of the Four Horseman, or how the coins might each interpret a different kind of suffering. Or maybe they are all bent and made for distruction! Poor Seregil, but for now it seems like they know the cause of the fits!

Chapter 9-10. I'm having a rough, angsty time going through what Seregil is having as a rough time. Lashing out in anger ( and even lust ), wanting to throttle his assistant ( poor Alec ) and pretending to be a woman between two chapters. Seriously- Seregil is having major visionary issues such as insomnia, loss of appetite, horrible nightmares. And the red mark. Is it from the coin, magic, past trauama? I am worried

Just wanted to put some thoughts down from the reading. I am deeply sorrowful about Seregil's nightmare about his father banishing him and shaming him for his sexuality and I want to *cries* hold Seregil tight and tell him he will be okay. And it was incredibly surreal the way the author wrote the scene, with Alec being warm and affectionate and Micum, dead. It was a horrible nightmare if I say so myself.
