That's not how you pronounce macabre.

I have literally no memory of who the hell this guy is.

Look I consider myself a pretty attentive reader and that I have a pretty good memory for characters and places and names and such, even weird fantasy ones, but I seriously have zero memory of the character who was just mentioned. This is not a good thing in your sprawling, multi-plot book.

This seems like a good time to introduce yet another brand new POV character.

The disadvantage with introducing a character for a whole two sentences and then not returning to them for several chapters is that whatever descriptor you have me for them I have *utterly* forgotten.

I am of the growing opinion that this book could do with a serious editing trim down and be much better for it.

I think I'm going to take a break and do something else...

Not gonna lie, I'm struggling... I keep thinking I must be further along and then seeing how much is left... But so far we've got like twelve stories and most of them are nowhere near interaction and I want to read The Terror instead...

Look, I *love* deep world building and I definitely appreciate that a lot of it went into this, but good grief is this taking absolutely forever for things to happen.
