The book is from the perspective of Huckleberry Finn, son a of town drunk. Since the book is written of a thirteen year old boy there are intentional grammatical errors, in order to fully immerse the reader in his childhood. His companion, Tom Sawyer does reckless and stupid acts, such as creating a gang to rob and murder locals. The gang fails, for everything they do is imaginative.

The relationship between Huck and Jim is becoming more of like a brother and little brother relationship. Huck reads to Jim and plays pranks on him, such as when they get separated Huck tricks Jim into believing that it is all a dream. I am anxious to finish the book and see their relationship develop.

Huckleberry Finn finally runs away from his dad with a canoe he obtains drifting through the river. He hides on a nearby island and discovers Jim, a runaway slave. Together they establish a new friendship and it's humorous because Huck disguises himself as a girl to get information in town. The book is witty and amusing.
