There is a strong connection between tattoos and transformation. Tattoos are symbolic of death and resurrection.

Truth. When someone who is interwoven into your essential being dies, the death is not only of that person but of the entire life you had before. The resurrection speaks to the new life that is born from the old, in the aftermath. For me, tattoos are the manifestation of that transformation.
