I'm not as pulled into this one as much as the first book. Not sure exactly why but It's coming off a little too saccharine or cheesy for me. Somehow the gospel guitar playing ex-cop turned PI recovering from a bullet wound to the back is just too much. The other characters are feeling too much as well.
