I'm up around p. 185 now. I'm finding the relationship between Richard and his wife rather troubling. He certainly doesn't seem happy in his marriage and doesn't really want the boys around much either. I think this was needed for the plot to allow us to understand how he could become so obsessed with the past. He really doesn't like very much about his present and has little invested in it.
