Greene at Guilford Courthouse reminds me of Raymond Spruance at the Battle of Midway. Greene had to protect his Army just as Spruance had to protect his fleet. Both were criticized for a lack of aggressiveness, but losing their army and fleet respectively would have been calamitous to the overall wars as a whole. Arguably, both made the right decisions.
