I'm pretty sure I bought this book 10 years ago after reading the version of Beowulf which has the older English on one side. So while this is 912 pages it's really about 412 pages of the tales themselves. I've started and stopped reading this book a couple times. I'm gonna do it. Even if I read just 2 pages a day, I can finish this before the end of the year. Page 7 is actually 2 pages in.

Prologue done. On to the first tale. Also, I understand now that the prologue introduces a bunch of characters starting their journey together to Canterbury. And while on the journey, most of them tell a tale. And one Character has put them all together into "The Canterbury Tales".
