Slowly drawing to the end... waiting for the 'bad guys' to get theirs - but I've heard this is a downer book, so I'm not really expecting it to happen...

Well, damn. Not pulling any punches about the horrors of life in this thing...

Kinda just plodding along. I'm mostly clear on who's who, though I still get Shirley and Samantha confused, and it doesn't help that they're in a lot of scenes together.
Anyway - I kinda feel for some of the people, and I get the whole point of the story, but, well, it's just not my sort of thing, really...

And we're back, after a brief holiday (with its accompanied no work-outs, obviously) - and it was hard to get back into it. I just don't really care about any of the characters all that much...

I think I mentioned that this isn't normally the sort of book I go in for? Yeah... That hasn't changed...

Still having a hard time keeping everyone straight. Probably doesn't help that, as my workout book, it only gets read for, roughly, 25 minutes 3 times a week... :-\

First impression: This isn't the sort of book I'd normally read, but I knew that going in. I've always thought that one of Rowling's strengths, though, is in her character development and portrayal - and that's helping her here, since this is so much a character-based book, and I am curious about a few of them. That said, there are *so many* characters and I'm already having a hard time keeping track of who's who.
