I think I can understand why this book has received mixed review but I am loving it so far but there are times of endless patter. It is almost too much book if that makes sense!

I think that The Goldfinch is one of those complicated books that does not do well for the fast reader. It is a book that forces the reader to take their time and pay attention. It is a sentence somewhere that will impact the story 200 pages later. One of my first criticisms of the book has happened to be 400 pages later one of the most important things in the book.
