First date flashback: That moment when you remember you're a heartless assassin whilst dating your target.
Two thoughts:
(1) First arc was another monster fight. The best of them, yes, but still a monster fight.
(2) I've decided that Mera is pronounced mare-a, like the French word for sea, and not merr-a as in mermaid or meer-a as in Vera.

Some thoughts:
(1) Hopefully this second outing by Jeff Parker has more plot to it and less monotonous punching. His initial outing failed to find its sea legs, resorting to Superman-style brawls with sundry monsters and deities.
(2) There were enough seeds dropped in the last volume to make me optimistic that some intrigue will come to fruition.
