I can relate to the main character because she is twelve. So I know what is going on in the book. Also she is going though middle school drama and everything.

I think that the author wants kids around 12 to read this book because the characters in the book are 12. The words in this book weren’t easy but they weren’t hard. It’s about a normal 7th graders life, and her thoughts about time travel. In the end she finds out that time travel is real. It does have a kissing scene but that’s all.

I think that the conflict in this book was character versus self. I think that it was character versus self because the main character, Maranda, because she is wondering if she should tell everyone about the notes that are being sent to her. Even though the notes say note to tell. This is all happening while she is living her everyday life.

The genre of When You Reach Me is a realistic fiction. This is because, everything that happens in this book is possible but probably hasn’t happened yet. Like these sixth graders work at a sandwich shop at lunch every day at school. That could happen in some places but I don’t know if it has.
