A couple things:
(1) Whenever I read Mera's words I always imagine her sounding British. The whole "royalty among the peasants" trope doesn't work so well with American accents.
(2) After Ivan Reis' art in previous volumes, Paul Pelletier feels like a bit of a letdown. It's a different style, yes, but too cartoony for this newly serious Aquaman.

This is the end of Geoff Johns' Aquaman run. I think he left the book to write Forever Evil and then Superman. It's been consistently good so far and has really taken my interest in Aquaman from nil to becoming an essential title. Though, I hear things fall off a cliff when Jeff Parker takes over, so dark days ahead, I guess.
