i swear i understand what this book is trying to do, but so far it's failing on almost every front and i just. i just cant believe

this book is an important document of its time. that's a fact. and i'm not sure i would be able to say anything more opinionated.

ujhhhh this book is hard to have an opinion on. so far, at least. i am Very Conflicted

"Tumblr is supposed to be sacred ground where our friendship is cemented" id like to seize the opportunity to say, rip tumblr (also who uses tumblr following as indication of friendship.... have you ever opened this hellsite. every man is for himself there. we scream into the void & don't give a shit about whatever. that's twitter you're thinking aboug here im pretty sure)

i've nothing against the black-white juxtaposition and i think we need it in ya, but i am, not to sound repetitive, a hundred percent against painting everything black and white. ppl like these characters here exist, but if you want to address a major problem, you should work with a common case. the stereotypes crushed all together in one poor black girl will not look good. can't feel for such poor decision-making

yeah so just half hour ago my friend reminded me that this book exists so i impulse-bought it on kindle and impulse-read the first 2 chapters in the dead of night and honestly i dont know why i did that because i dont wanna stop
