This is the end of Higgins' run and, albeit late, I think he gets it. This has had four Batman villains where there hadn't been any before apart from tie-ins. Borrowed feeling it may be, but it's the first time it's felt like a Nightwing book and not generic urban superhero. Story isn't everything, characters need things and memorable associates.

A big reason I think people look fondly on the Chuck Dixon era of Nightwing is that Dick Grayson and Barbara Gordon were a couple for nearly all of it. Since then, there's been an edict of ship sinking (in the fan shipping sense), periodic reminders that they love each other but can't be together. I know they're independent properties, but c'mon!
