I’ve forgotten how good Hemingway is.

Hemingway’s death stories: the approach of death or a death itself reveals different facets of character. The two best stories so far, and they are all good, are “The Snows of Kilamanjaro,” in which Hemingway departs from his brute, laconic style, and “A Clean, Well-Lighted Place,” a story that should be read just for the waiter’s moving version of The Lord’s Prayer.”
