Holding off a full review until I've read Book 3 as the plot threads are still unravelling. For now, I can say that I am enjoying the series as the world-building is complex and the characters have multiple facets (and agendas) to their personalities.
However, I was hoping for some resolutions in Book 2 after the cliffhangers in Book 1, but although resolved initially, thetwists and turns continued. Clever but...

Not the antagonist that I expected as another cliffhanger ending unfolds. Then my Kindle powers off. Do I tackle Book 3 or look for variety and have a break?

85% and so many worlds that I wish more threads would connect - well the main two.

Factions mean layers even among powerful beings - and beliefs.

Deception can be subtle and cruel.

Uncomfortable urges that challenge me.

Now I understand the cliffhanger at the end of Book 1 and I agree with the author.
