So far it has mentioned the lives of most of the Flyboys before the war and what they did. I am currently at the part in the book where the families are bidding the soldiers goodbye so they can go serve they're part in the war.

I have not yet finished the book but I have learned so much about WWII and some of the lesser known facts about the War. My favorite part about the book so far is the straight honesty it gives about what happened. It doesn't try to sugarcoat the facts it is telling you the exact accounts of what really happened. Some of the accounts are gruesome but at least its the truth. Overall the best book I have read.

I am at the part of the book where Japan is starting to plan a attack on America

There is a lot of Rape in this chapter and I cannot say I'm complaining.

So far it is saying why the general that was testing the 3rd dimension of warfare (Air Combat) was court martialed and how he died forming the Flyboy's and how he warned that Japan was going to launch an attack on the Pacific and just a lot of information on what actually happened and how American Military leaders sort of let it happen.

I am currently at the point where it is telling me about how Emperor/General Hirohito is being raised and earlier in the book what sort of started Japan in its aggressive manner.
