My last book ended up being a real drag. I should have known a Grant Morrison Superman run would end in exasperation and a hurt brain. It wasn't bad per se, just very high concept and very not for me. I feel a slump coming on and need to stop it in its tracks. A surefire remedy for bad Superman is good Batman, and Scott Snyder has yet to fail me.

(1) I do love a good homage: behold, the famous slap scene reproduced, right down to the red background! Now we know the cycle of slaps started with Alfred.
(2) I've not read Batman: Year One. That's a good thing, because this retcons it and I'm able to judge this alone on its merits.
