Bought this book on a risk since the synopsis reminded me so much of David Baldacci's Vega Jane series. Typically, I don't buy books if I haven't read them first, but I had a gut feeling about this one. Hope I'm right. So far, so good. Good world-building and action in the first 50 pages. Let's do some literary spelunking!

This book is enough to make me claustrophobic. It's like one of those futuristic galactic action/horror flicks where the cast gets killed off one at a time, and the only thing you're wondering is, who's next? The plot is stifled by too many scenes of tunnel exploration followed by somewhat gruesome deaths after encountering ugly, scary creatures. No progress. That's probably why it's taking me so long to finish this.
