SPOILER ALERT: Something really big happened in the last pages. Guy was burning a house with a bunch of books in it and he stole a book. That is illegal and shows just how much Clarisse has changed him. I wonder if he will read the book or chicken out? I also found out that Clarisse is dead! I have no idea how that happened and why the people who told Guy were so casual about it!

The entire city blew up! He was so lucky that he was out of the city when it blew up, but sad because everyone he knew was in the city like his wife and Faber. He likes life away from the city and technology. The end of this book made me reflect on how much he has changed because of Clarisse. At the start, he was an obedient firefighter and now at the end, he's a rebellious book-reader! I really enjoyed this book.

Guy is on the run! The police set the Hound on him and he finally escaped using the river with Faber's help (but Faber is safe) and made it to an old farmhouse. I thought that he was so lucky! He discovered that the old farmhouse was home to other book-readers who had memorized famous books so that they could not be destroyed. I feel like this was unbelievable that the house he goes to is book-readers like him!

This part of the book is really dramatic! Beaty found out that Guy had a library at his house (His wife reported him!) and came to arrest him. Beaty made Guy burn his own house! I thought that was really mean because that was his home. Then Guy took the blowtorch and set Beaty and killed him! I was so surprised because he was really upset when the old woman was set on fire with her books and he did the same thing!

Guy realized that Beaty, the fire chief knew Guy had stolen a book(s)! I am so surprised that Guy would risk so much to read books! I think this shows how much people can change in such a small amount of time and be influenced by other people. I'm confused about which books are illegal. I don't know if all books are illegal or just some? What about magazines? I wonder how this came to be because it seems so extreme.

Guy is starting to see the world in a different way because of Clarisse and realizes he is not completely happy with his life or being a fireman. He talks to Clarisse a few more times and each time realizes something new and is starting to change in many ways. I'm surprised that just one person could influence his life s much and that he didn't just ignore it.

There is this man named Guy Montag who is a fireman, but in this world, a fireman sets books on fire instead of putting fires out and books are illegal. That really surprised me because books seem like a good thing to help you learn! He meets a 16-year-old girl named Clarisse who is very different from all the rest of the people in his world and helps Guy see things from a different point of view.
