I've only skipped through picking out highlights & tidbits so far. I cannot wait to slug my way North to South through this marvelous land & its funny, tough, resilient, perfectionist people. Another point: The Vietnamese are totally different from any of their neighbors-- Laos, Thais, Cambodians. Can't lump them all together as if they're one people. Uh-uh. Lord, I need two more lives for all these books!
