The thing that happened in the novel is that Ponyboy was shocked that Bob Sheldon was killed. Ponyboy and his friends go around and try to find who killed Bob Sheldon.
Ponyboy is an adjective of intelligent. For example when he is talking about his grades it clearly shows that he is smart and intelligent.

In the book Ponyboy and his friends (Darry) are back where they live and they are talking about there feelings and anything bothering them. Another thing is that they are talking about there grades in class and hoe much trouble they get into.

In the novel Johnny dies and Ponyboy, Soda, and Darry feel like it is there fault. The 3 of them try to get over it and they finally figure out that Johnny will alaways be there right above them.
They are at the same hospital when Johnny is passing away. They go back to there house and feel sorry. This affects the plot because Ponyboy can’t do things with Jonny anymore.

Ponyboy and his friend Johnny are in the hospital after suffering a severe burn while in a burning building. Ponyboys brothers are now hugging him because they were so worried about PonyBoy.
I think the cops are going to get really mad at Ponyboy and Johnny because they killed someone and ran away without telling anyone.
