Ilana (illi69) I've been meaning to read E.M. Forster since I was a teenager. How is it so far?

Charles It's great! I love E.M. Forster the same way I love Edith Wharton, as they both tackle artifice in society, but I find that Forster pushes the envelope a little further somehow. The shift in focus from America to Britain while still mocking propriety is spellbinding. I had already read Howard's End and Maurice, and as I'm getting into A Room with a View everything that I love is still there. Meddling relatives, youth pushing through, a lot of heart in the characters and beautiful writing, always.

Ilana (illi69) That sounds very promising since I’m already an Edith Wharton fan beyond a doubt! :-)

Julie G They're both so wonderful, aren't they? How long can we live? Can we read them all before we die??
