There’s a lot of very subtle Oedipal stuff in the book at this point and idk if it’s intentional or just an unfortunate side effect of their overwhelming fondness of their dead mother, but regardless, it’s weird.

Nothing even that emotional has happened yet but Zusak is such a great goddamn writer than I'm wilting at phrases like "Matador in the fifth" and "The Mistake Maker made no mistakes"
