Im finding this such an unpleasant read that I can only bear to read one chapter every couple of weeks. I find the rejection of extrinsic objectivity and the sufficiency of the cross in exchange for constant introspective masturbational fruit checking absolutely repulsive. If anything, this book will "unsave" you

Don't buy this, stick with Calvin. The Nadere are only good at ecclesiology, nothing else.

What I think that this book shows is how rich a Christians life could/should be with the substance of doctrine. The confession/creed as a liturgical movement or element is a Christian art. One of the highest order. To gather together not only to dwell on truths we believe but truths that are foundational to our unitive substance and not only to dwell but to confess. To exhale the breath that gave us life.
