I finished the book!

Tally and David just broke into Special Circumstances using their hoverboards to launch them. They described when they were caught by the bungee jackets as super painful, and that suprised me because if they have all this new technology they should make it work better. It seems like their world really relies on all the technology to work, and otherwise their whole city wouldn't work!

Tally and David found out that his parents were gone, but they don't know where. I feel like Tally doesn't deserve his friendship or support because she caused all of these bad things to happen by choosing to be pretty and betraying her friend. I wish that she had not gone, or at least for the reason of being Pretty. She needs to tell David the truth and rescue the people that were captured!

The Special Circumstances just found the Smoke even though Tally didn't use her tracker necklace. She feels bad because she kind of likes the smoke now. I wonder if Tally will be punished or will she be turned Pretty? I wonder what will happen to her new friends?

Tally made it to the Smoke which suprised me because it seemed like an almost impossible place to find, and she hasn't opened the necklace that will let the government know where she is. I think that maybe she is having second thoughts about turning her friend in. She also met a guy named David in the Smoke and Shay is mad at Tally because David used to be Shay's boyfriend. I wonder if now Tally will turn Shay in?

Right now, Tally is on the journey to find the Smoke, and it is dangerous! She almost falls off her hoverboard multiple times and is having a little bit of a hard time living on her own in the wild. I think it is pretty crazy that Tally would agree to betray her friend and risk her life just to become pretty. I think if our society keeps being so focused on physical appearence, that our world might end up like that.

... tell them where the Smoke is that they will never turn her into a Pretty. Tally doesn't want to betray her friend, but she also really wants to be turned into a Pretty. Shay left Tally a set of clues to find her, and so Tally agrees to help Special Circumstances find where the Smoke is. I think this was the wrong decision, but I am also curious about how Tally would be changed after the operation.

Right now, Tally (the main character) is captured by the Specials. What happened was that her friend Shana wanted to run away to another village where no one is turned into a Pretty called the Smoke, but Tally wouldn't come with her. On the day that Tally is supposed to be turned into a Pretty, a part of the government called "Special Circumstances" capture her and threatens that if Tally doesn't... continued.

Continued: She escapes by jumping off a building with a bungee jacket on and meets Skinny. Skinny shows her how to hoverboard and trick her hoverboard into letting them go outside the boarders of the city.
