Mary I loved this one. It was a very quick read (only 4 days to finish). As one who loves the "floured arts", I really enjoyed her take on attempts to duplicate confections from her childhood. Her descriptions of German pastries reminded me of ones my grandmother made when I was growing up. Of course at the time, I had no interest in learning how to make them. It's nice to now have some recipes to try out since my grandmother is gone.

Her writing styles was very easy to read in short intervals. The chapters were pretty much self-contained, so it was easy to sit down and read one chapter without having to remember what you read last.

Overall a wonderful read, especially if you enjoy baking things that don't come out of a box.
