I agree - tough going. I originally thought it would take me 12 weeks to read but it's taking twice that. He somehow manages to be both incredibly sweeping and incredibly dense. Some paragraphs require 2 or 3 rereads to absorb properly. I'm convinced that anyone who claims this is a quick read (and there are GR reviews that say this!) cannot be properly absorbing the content. It's a major personal exercise, but a worthy one with ample rewards. I am finding the Eurocentrism very tiring, but also knew what I was signing up for.
