Storing grains in bin could take up 30% additional space.
While storing them in sacks only 15% additional space.
And two sacks (around 70kg together) could theoretically feed a cohort (80 men) for a day.

Slaves and servants ate sitting down.
While well to do Romans ate in a reclined position.
