Remember that person who changed your life? My first true published story was in our high school newspaper, thanks to my teacher, Mr. Ferguson. Last night at the #NeilArmstrong signing in Tampa, he surprised me.
So who’s the teacher who changed your life?

Love you, Ferg!

Dana Coach Whitaker, my 10th grade Biology teacher. He stands out as someone who cared enough to help me deal with an issue that was taking over my life. I'll never forget him for that. My manager at my first job also stands out to me as someone who was kind, decent, friendly and funny. :)

Susan Elizabetha Mrs. Lockenhour and Mrs. Atkinson both encouraged students to read.

Lacie Tom Gerencher, high school Media teacher. His room was covered in memorabilia and posters and he was a delight to listen to. He taught us history via the history of print media, art, and rock n’ roll. He so inspired my husband and I, that our son’s middle name is Thomas!

Naomi Tapper Nathan Quinones, my high school Spanish teacher . How many of us can say that you left high school speaking a foreign language? When you entered his classroom, it was all Spanish all the time. If you asked a question in English, Sr. Quinones would reply, No hablo Ingles! The knowledge of a second language was instrumental in my career! The understanding of diversity of culture s and thought began with this man. I will always be grateful for having crossed his path!
