I don't know what to make of this book's take on the Joker/Harley relationship. Scott Snyder did it perfectly in Batman, where she loves him but he only sees her as a tool. Here it's too cutesy and over-the-top: Joker plays the jealous ex and they spend an entire issue joking around as they beat the crap out of each other and talk about feelings.

The more I read Suicide Squad the more I feel it wouldn't be anything at all without Harley Quinn. She's not just valuable because everyone else, besides Amanda Waller, is one-note, expendable fodder (hence the title), but also for her ties to Gotham and its sundry of characters. Joker's in only two issues, yet he's all over the cover and blurbs.
