(Ask) after Lila and Joe discovered that Douglas Joseph Lockwood was not Dj I wonder what they will do with this information? Will they find out who DJ really is?

(Vocab and Allusion) “After twenty minutes I had only covered about a quarter mile,but my ARDUOUS pace did not concern me.”
Arduous is used when something is taking a lot of effort or, when something or someone is slow.

(Connection) As I was reading I recognized the works crescendo and I thought it was interesting how we were just learning about crescendos and what they mean in music and it was interesting how this author used this word in his book.

(Prediction) Lila and Joe had Crystal Havens diary and they discovered that she had been raped and harassed by some named DJ. I think that DJ must be the killer since he was harassing her and he was the person who was forcing her to have sex, I think must be the murderer.

(Vocab and Allusion)- “He was one of those kids on CUSP.”
Cusp- a point in between two things (an example is a point where to curves meet or a point of transition between two different states.)

(Ask)- I see how Joe is opening up to Carl as he continues to spend time with him, Joe talks about how his grandpa died and says he had something to do with it. I wonder what happened to his grandpa and how Joe is involved? Why did Joe choose Carl to be the first he tells about this?

(Vocab and Allusion)
“I was told that we had air support hovering above the mission. They dropped a load of NAPALM on the VC position. Carl covered like a blanket. If you look closely you can still see the scars from his burns.”
Napalm- a highly flammable sticky jelly used in bombs and flamethrowers.

(VOCAB AND ALLUSION) “I need that thin PLAUSIBILITY to ease my conscience.” Plausibility means the quality of seeming reasonable or making sense.
