This is a really ambitious book that tries to accomplish a lot of things. Not always successfully. I coast on top of the espionage stuff, then get sucked into the love story aspect, then emerge to coast back on top of it again. It’s a strange way to read. Like having a romance novel tucked inside a poly sci textbook...
