End of Volume 1. So far, the book could have been shortened by half and edited twice as much. Misspellings everywhere, and research-vomit for lack of a better phrase. Everything and every source Boyd could consider is on the page. It's too much. And, in exchange for the sources, we get flat, uninteresting language. Were I not so sympathetic to Boyd's concerns, I'd have put it down by now. Will finish, however.
