Those who've followed my reviews for a while will know that I don't give very many five-star reviews: right now they only make up 16/340, or 4% of books I've read. This might be another one. The first issue was nothing short of fantastic, and though the two subsequent issues have cooled off slightly it's on course to be another all-time favorite.

Snyder's my favorite Batman writer, so I have high expectations going in. Possibly a SPOILER, though it's on the cover and is the first line of the blurb: this arc is known for Joker wearing his flayed-off face as a mask. This one-ups Grant Morrison, who started his run by shooting Joker in the forehead, giving him a bullet scar and brain damage.
