Foreshadowing is when the author gives you clues in the book about what is going to happen next. In the book the author foreshadows when the blue mustang pulls up by jonny, he gets very scared and that tells me that the socs are going to beat him up. The beating up is foreshadowed.

Suspense is a method used by the author to maintain a reader's interest. The author uses it in the outsiders by saying something bad is going to happen to a character and the character gets scared. An example in the book is when the blue mustang slowly pulls up by jonny and he is alone with only Pony and Two-bit.

The first thing I like about the outsiders is that the book has a lot of action. The second thing i like about it is that it shows that bad people can be good. The third thing I like about is is that it tells me that i can make a change if i tried.

The point of view that the book is told from is... First person. The sentence in the book that shows that is "When i stepped out into the bright sunlight from the darkness of the movie house,I had only two things on my mind: Paul Newman and a ride home.". It affects the book because you do not know what other characters are thinking and what they want to do.
