1) The Golden Ratio is news to me...though I'm skeptical about how often it appears. 2) I'm looking up to see if Da Vinci is the flagrantly gay pagan that this book paints him as. 3) Sophie is an idiot. Her grandfather made these clues FOR HER and she can't figure them out even though she's supposedly a great cryptographer. Thank God for Gary Stu!!

Only FOUR Grand Masters were women??! Better than my "0" count, but for an organization that worships the sacred feminine, that number seems too low. But, you know, "worshipping the sacred feminine" =/= being a feminist. You could say they are still sexist.

Still wrapping up all the loose ends. So...what was Arringarosa's point in this book? Red herring? And while there were a few interesting/clever moments, by far most of this was pretty dry and dull.

So...that's the "solution" that Langdon spent so long on? Just throw the cryptex? You do realize that the Teacher is a cripple; why not dive for his legs and take away the gun?

"...the searing heat of the bullet wound in his chest felt profoundly foreign to him, deep and grave, not a wound to the flesh, but closer to the soul." You mean Arringarosa doesn't regularly get shot in the chest?!

Chapter 100. Possible spoiler: How convenient that the Teacher turns out to be the very guy Gary Stu goes to for help. I suppose there are only 6 people in DB's Europe.

And now, time for the villain to reveal his cunning plan to his soon to die heroes in a clunky monologue. You are never too old for info dumping sessions.

You know, I MIGHT be more surprised at the Teacher's identity if there had been a bit more subtlety and a bit larger of cast. I mean, there are like 6 characters in the entire novel and most (Fache, Langdon, Silas, Sophie) were most definitely NOT the Teacher. Also. What was Arringarosa's point in this novel? To mustache twirl and die? Whoop dee do.

How does Langdon know so much and yet so little? He knows all these esoteric details about the Grail (including that playing cards are signs of Mary Magdalene, yo), but he is stumped with these clues? Until they are solved? Huh?

Chapter 95. And why couldn't Gary Stu hit up Google with his silly grail search (which seemingly everyone realizes is not a chalice, and yet, the myth still remains?)?
