Corcoran is deadly! Fun to read Howard's very vivid scenery and action prose in a Western setting - he did it well. He also wrote the creed of Corcoran's soul well, though it grew slightly tedious. Enjoyed the tale, though the diabolical evilness of the culprit chilled me, and despite Corcoran's admirable traits, he rather disappointed in a few areas.

'Showdown at Hell's Canyon' was ... the most telling tale I think I've ever read by REH. Everything was explained and foretold and retold and over-told. Don't dislike the tale, but don't need to read it again.
