“She simply had the good sense to realize that she couldn’t afford to dwell on what had happened between them, and that is why she had broken off all contact.” Makeda is a very wise and strong woman. It’s interesting how Soloman was so grand and wise until the day he met her, and then it all rubbed off on her and now he is failing as a ruler. Makes for a great story!

Pet peeve of mine: when a book about the ancient Egyptians or the ancient Israelites talks about growing corn. No. Corn was a North American crop unknown to the ancient east. This crop was not growing in the Middle East. Please research before writing books!
