"He was far from the suicidal figure he liked to paint himself as." What a shockingly insensitive thing for a biographer to say. Do you know nothing about mental health issues?

Well, my Kindle says I only have an hour left in this book. So that’s something, at least.

It’s not just that I don’t care about The Smiths. I straight up don’t know enough about music to be able to follow a lot of this narrative. The author just mentioned “a spaghetti rockabilly skiffle riff” in one of their songs. What does that even mean, and why would you say it without any further explanation?

This is taking forever to read, and I’m really not enjoying any of it.

This book is interminably boring, and I'm really frustrated that my book club chose it.

Does it really make sense to complain about “constant religious indoctrination” at what’s literally a private Catholic school?? This author’s biases are WILD.
