Madec has told the investigators his side of the story and he had it on point with making it seem like Ben was in the wrong the whole time. Bens uncle has now came down to the station to try and help Ben through all of this mess. Ben is trying to tell them that Madec did all of this but they are still unsure who’s fault it was.

As Ben goes to leave the sherif station, strick, a fellow sherif tells Ben that he can’t go home because strick was charging him with a felony aggravated assault. Ben was blown away by this and outraged that strick would try and accuse Ben of this mess. So he gets put into a jail cell and is beyond pissed off.

Ben has successfully captured Madec and has him tied up in the Jeep so there is no way that he could escape. Additionally Ben has found the old prospectors body that Madec had shoved up under a rock so that the chopper could not see it from the air. Madec is now trying to minipulate Ben by offering him money to keep his mouth shut about what happend.

Ben has got Madec where he wants him now ! He has waited patiently under the sand and waited for the perfect time to execute his masterly plan to outsmart Madec without dying. He shot him with his slingshot in the hand, wrist, and knee with his buckshot ammo that he had been saving for the perfect time and this was it.
