So the Emperor's catchphrase is "If you weren't my brother's daughter, I'd have you executed"

OMG Shizuka is actually acknowledging that she's the cause of Shefali's problems. May wonders never cease. Then, of course, Shefali goes and ruins it by denying it. Girl, let me have my moment.

Shizuka: *bitching about eating rabbit for the nth time in a row*

Shafali: *the only one hunting and tired of her shit* "Go. Find a deer"

I'm coming to realize that this whole book could have been avoided if Shefali had told Shizuka to take a long walk off a short pier when they were 8. I mean, Shefali has almost died like 4 times because Shizuka is an arrogant shit who thinks she's immortal.

I don't understand why the two main characters are together. Shizuka basically treats Shifali like a servant and gets her into dangerous situations that always end up hurting Shifali only. I would've dropped Shizuka like a hot potato when I was like 5

So she's cured of a deadly disease that no one has ever recovered from......with the power of love? WHAT??

What is with this chick and dueling? If some poor schmuck makes her stub her toe, she demands a duel. Like, geez, take a chill pill

So...Shizuka's a god? She's hearing prayers so I guess? Why are we just hearing about this now though? We're already halfway through the book.

So Shizuka is literally at death's door, but having sex is on her bucket list so gosh darn it if she isn't going to have sex before she goes!

So I thought Shefali's mother was mute, but apparently she took a vow of silence. Only took us a hundred pages to learn that. Probably take another hundred more to learn why.
