The title of the upcoming chapter is "Veni Vidi Vici." This is a Latin phrase meaning I came, I saw, I conquered, and was first used by Julius Caesar after winning a battle. I predict Ender and his army will win the battle and be victorious. Allusion and Prediction

The last update was a connection.

Ender is upset because the army he is in charge of lacks basic skills. He is supposed to be their leader and lead them to victory, but does not feel like he can do this with the army he was given. I can relate to this a lot whether it be in school or sports. Sometimes I feel like people in my group do not know enough for us to do good, or in sports sometimes I feel like my teammates aren't skilled enough to win.

"People should be allowed to have as many children as they like, and the surplus population should be sent to other worlds, to spread mankind so far across the galaxy that no disaster, no invasion could ever threaten the human race with annihilation." I really like this quote because it is creative and futuristic. It makes me wonder what if eventually people lived somewhere else besides earth. Favorite

I think the authors word choice is a big part of this book. He uses very detailed and complex words to convey to his readers the science fiction book that it is. The words also make the reader feel like they are part of the story itself. Writers strategies

Ender talks about how much he loves to kill others in the game and the feeling he gets from it. He then tries to take back what he said about enjoying to kill, and he claims he doesn't have murder in heart. Do you think in today's world video games that involve shooting and killing others could create some negative effect?

In the sentence, "In Dink's home in the Netherlands, with three generations under Russian hegemony, perhaps it was all controlled," I searched up the work hegemony. Hegemony means dominance or control of one country over another. This means a the Netherlands was under control by the Russians. Vocab

I predict that Ender will use his technological skills and get revenge on Bonzo for hitting him. I predict this because the author foreshadows by saying that Ember wasn't trying to get revenge, but he was making sure no one would do this to him again. To me it seems like Ender will get revenge even if he isn't trying. Predict

I like the line, "They filed clumsily into the battle room, like children in a swimming pool for the first time, clinging to the handholds along the side." I like this simile because it creates a funny image in my mind. I can totally picture young kids in a pool kicking and swinging their arms ferociously to try to get to the side. Favorite

Ender and the Launchies get to Battle School and find their bunks. They get introduced to, Dap, the guy that is supposed to watch out for them and answer any of their questions. Ender feels alone and isolated which makes him sad. He cries in his bed at night. Ender gets made fun of, but he ends up getting revenge by braking into the computer system and framing him. Summary
