One of the many things I love about this book is that it addresses what I consider a huge flaw of omission in Bill Wilson’s 12 Step philosophy: the role of trauma. I exhibited alcoholic tendencies as far back as a decade ago, but it wasn’t until I experienced significant trauma that alcohol turned into a life-consuming coping mechanism.
